Kirsten Storms’ return to ‘General Hospital’ delayed

Sad news for “General Hospital” fans, as if they required a lot of.

Orlando’s Kirsten Storms, who has been on medical leave since September, won’t rejoin the ABC soap as soon as planned. Storms, who plays Maxie, has been with “GH” since 2005.

The network released this statement today: “Kirsten Storms won't be able to come back to ‘General Hospital’ as soon as originally hoped and announced. Jen Lilley can still play Maxie Jones for the foreseeable future.”

It had been announced that Storms would be back at month’s finish.

There’s nice uncertainly regarding the long run of “GH.” The long-running soap can lose its time extract the autumn when ABC opens that point amount to a replacement syndicated speak show hosted by Katie Couric. (ABC affiliate WFTV-Channel nine, however, can air a replacement syndicated show hosted by Steve Harvey.) “GH” is competing with 2 new series, “The Chew” and “The Revolution,” for spots in ABC’s lineup.

ABC has dropped 2 alternative soaps. “All My Children” ended its run in September. “One Life to Live” expired earlier this month.
