As a former child star, Melissa Gilbert won hearts participating in Laura Ingalls Wilder on little House on the Prairie. Since then, she’s been a Hollywood multi-tasker, earning credits for acting, writing, producing and directing. She was even the president of the Screen Actors Guild. Now, she’s usurping the ballroom on season fourteen of Dancing with the celebs – and blogging regarding it each week on people.com. In her first post, she writes regarding her unhealthy boy partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
First of all, despite the very fact that it’s solely been three weeks since the news broke that i'm getting to be on Dancing with the celebs, it already looks like it's been a year since I opened the door and met my mystery date, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
My lord, was I ever nervous! it had been type of a blind date, promenade and gap night all rolled into one.
Secretly – or not so secretly – i would been hoping the producers would attempt me up with Maks. Why, you ask? he's strong, you say? he's mean; he makes his partners cry … Why, indeed! i needed for Maks as a results of I knew deep down that he would push me – body, mind and soul – to places I’ve never been.
Some say, be careful what you wish for. I knew exactly what i used to be getting myself into, which i will be able to happily and proudly say i used to be right.
Maks may be a unprecedented teacher. he's a robust dancer. he's a robust and powerful partner and he's proving to be an implausible friend.
Our relationship is … well, just weird. Sometimes, we tend to tend to are absolute equals. Most of the time, he leads (which frustrates the hell out of me, as i’m a whole type-A personality). Sometimes, I counsel and caution. All of the time, we tend to laugh … lots. he's type of a unhealthy brother. He likes to form me blush. Watch the show, you may see me flip purple. Literally, constant color as a result of the wall!
Maks helps me to faucet into an area of myself that no-one terribly is alert to. Not publicly, anyway. he's bringing out in me the attractive, confident, fiery redheaded cougar. Crazy, right? Halfpint a cougar? Really?!
Oh, yeah! i feel we tend to tend to any or all have that cougar in us. girls my age, you acknowledge what i'm talking regarding. We’ve reached the aim where we tend to tend to are in full command of our bodies and minds. we tend to all understand what we tend to want, which we've got the years behind us to understand exactly the thanks to get it. Meow!
I’m going into our first week on the air in full-tilt cougar mode. Even the costume is dangerously hot. I even got to bring it. I even got to maximize.
