Sofia Vergara’s serious accent and notable curves highlighted her hosting gig on “Saturday Night Live.”
The “Modern Family” actress, who’s Colombian, summed up the evening throughout her monologue, saying, “Forgive me if you don’t perceive what I say – and I’ll forgive you for viewing my chest the total night.”
Done and done.
Wearing a black, zip-front, off-the-shoulder dress, Vergara centered on her acclimation to America throughout the monologue.
“This country welcomed me with open arms and pulled-down pants,” she said.
And that accent, that she demonstrated will build something sound attractive … “Rick San-tor-ummm.”
New Jerrrsey.”
Early within the show, Vergara portrayed Fran Drescher during a skit known as “Being Quirky with Zooey Deschanel.”
“The guys on “The Nanny” used to decision me ‘the bullhorn,'” she said, imitating Drescher’s nasally drone.
Sofia later appeared as a sex-ed teacher (yes, an acting stretch) victimized by a spunky student named Gillie (Kristen Wiig).
And then there was a mock Pantene industrial starring Vergara and Penelope Cruz (Kate McKinnon, the show’s initial open lesbian solid member on her debut show). The skit saw Vergara saying fun, simple words – aloe, hair, Pantene – whereas Cruz is forced to recite troublesome chemical compounds, like ‘Arteriovenous Plexus.’
“SNL” closed with Sofia serving as an in-arena announcer at the “Hunger Games,” inadvertently dropping her interview subjects and watching them perish.
“Hunger Games!” she screams. Yes, hunger games indeed.
